Helsinki, Finland

Helsinki Church

I was recently able to take an interesting and yet lonely trip to Helsinki, Finland. I say lonely only because my travel companion, who usually accompanies me on such trips, was not able to come so I was forced to hoof it alone.

I found the capital of Finland to be very beautiful, moody and peaceful. Do to lack of companion I was able to wander around the center of Helsinki and freely get lost, which I did … a lot. And this is not because Helsinki is an unorganized city, far from it. I think I got lost mainly because all street signs are twenty letters long, and are either in Finnish and Swedish. I also have a fondness for the Finnish beer which may have contributed to my inability to successfully utilize a map.

None the less I was able to take some excellent pictures there which I would like to share with you. Helsinki has some excellent architecture … and beer.
