Your Are Your Pedestal
Who do you admire? Who do you place on a pedestal? And I’m not talking about your mom or dad or who raised you. That’s obvious. I’m talking about things we see and covet everyday.

Jack and Sally Went Up The Hill (or It’s Christmas in July)
It’s hot here in New Orleans. About this time of year I am wishing it was any other season than high summer. I’m told by friends and family that I could probably not handle winter up north. Like I’m some kind of endangered rain forest frog that would die if you took it out of [...]

From Rainy Sunday Afternoons …
From rainy Sunday afternoons,
We stand amazed of the
Convection of man.
Take my hand
And pull me out.
I kiss your tears with flames.
Lets turn the lights out.

Sometimes You Dream …
Sometimes you dream
In the spaces between god.
All the love in one place,
Technicolor pain.
Drop for me,
Fall.
Fail me though your
Thoughts and smiles.
Sliding down your fear,
Ice-cream promises.
Swing for me.
Fly.
Sometimes you dream
With the knife in your eye.
Your faith is on the line,
Forever armless.

The Unseen Sky … and Starting At The Begining
Sometimes it’s just good to go back to the beginning. I love finger painting … Remember in school when the teacher would give you those great bright colors that would smell a little like glue and plastic. You’d reach your hand in grab a glob of paint and throw it on that white pristine canvas. [...]

Saint Sebastian Anterograde
Saint Sebastian got shot with a bunch of arrows and didn’t die. Cause for sainthood? Defense against the plague, and conversions. He also makes a really sweet painting, and has a wikipedia page. I’ve always loved the paintings.

The Lady and Death
Medieval stores and designs have always fasinated me. You can tell just how desperate and hard those day were by looking at the art. Most art of the time dealt with religious aspects of life and religious stories due to the fact that the religious powers were the only ones who had money to afford [...]

Talk, Talk, Talk … and Top Ten Cartoons Of The 80s
I think that this is inspired by my “psycelelic” middle school years in the late 80s of hot pink chucks and mall bangs. Everything was designed with ultra bright neon colors and some of the ugliest patterns you’ve ever seen. Some of these designs appear to be making a come back. I’m finding it bizzar [...]

It’s Friday Night, And We’re Hanging With Morgus.
Back in the day, whatever day that was, we used to gather around the tele every Friday night and enjoy a little show called “Morgus Presents”. With Dr. Morgus and his zombie like assistant Eric we’d watch great old horror flicks and enjoy the antics of the esteemed Dr M.

Bela Lugosi’s Not Dead …
… He’s Living In My Grandmothers Closet.
This is a painting from my Cinematic Horror Series. Basically an homage to all the scary movies that freaked the crap out of me and made my imagination run wild. I really did think that vampires lived in my grandmothers closet. After seeing the movie Fright Night I always [...]

Apocalyptica
Since the Apocalyptica contest is going on till the end of the month I think it’s probably a good time to pull some of these photos out of the flickr vault.

Back To Your Regularly Scheduled Programing
I like pictures of random things. I think it can really keep you grounded if you take a look at what’s around you. A chair, or a table sitting in a certain light. A pen half off a table, the way paper blows in the wind.

Singing Is Like Walking Around Naked …
I don’t think people realize how hard it is to put yourself out there when singing. The ultimate attempt is to entertain and bring a little levity to an otherwise dreary day. And that’s it peeps! Nothing really to it at all. The singer sings, you listen and enjoy … or not, maybe someone gets [...]

Rising From Disaster
I recently was able to return to the coast of Gulfport, Mississippi. In 2005 the coast of Gulfport was wiped out by hurricane Katrina. Unlike New Orleans, which was devastated by flooding due to a man made disaster of the levees, Gulfport was devastated by the actual hurricane.
