Love Me, I’ll Love

His mind was pregnant
With the ideal,
Searching for the shiny
Blindly past the love.

She waited and prayed
Silently to the gods
She would allow,
Love me, I’ll love.

They moved on opposite
Banks, not allowing
For ships passing
Past their blockades.

One loving for depth,
One loving for ideal.
Both divided, blinded,
The take away dreams.

Love me,
And I’ll love you forever,
She said.

Perfection,
Be mine I’ll give my heart,
He said.

Both not willing
To see the other.
Prides eyes sliding past,
They slide past one another.

How many chances have we lost,
to unselfishly love?
